When Language Fails unfolds in three interwoven sections—Unveiled, Entwined, and When Language Fails—each tracing the fragile evolution of human connection. Born from an international creative process in Poland and completed in Canada, the work moves through portraits of intimacy, rupture, and resilience, asking where the boundary lies between “I” and “we.”
W&M Physical Theatre brings to life three visceral stories that shift between the expressed and the suppressed, the civilized and the wild. Through layered physicality and stark emotional landscapes, the performers navigate what remains when communication fractures and gesture becomes the last frontier of understanding.
Featuring Sierra Oszust, Nicole Charlton Goodbrand, and William Jessup, and culminating in a powerful duet by Marie France Forcier and Wojciech Mochniej, When Language Fails exposes the tender fault lines of identity shaped by social and political tides. What emerges is both personal and collective—a dance of resistance and surrender, where the body insists on speaking what words no longer can.
